5 Tips to Minimize Stress

5 Easy Tips to Minimize Stress and help you keep calm

1. Take A Walk

Getting fresh air is a great way to de-stress. It can also be a great way to prepare before a difficult conversation or a gentle way to calm down after one.

2. Look Outside

If you know you’re going to have a stressful conversation see if you can have the conversation in a room with a view. Looking out the window, at the sky, at a tree, etc. can be calming by allowing you to connect with nature, space and perspective.

3. Pet the Cat

Having a loving connection with a family pet is a great way to give and receive unconditional love. Love calms us down and helps us to remember what’s really important.

4. Sing a Song

Listening to music can help slow your heart rate down when the music is calming and pump us up when the music is energizing. It may sound funny, but singing a song can help improve your mood. It’s hard to feel stressed-out while singing your favorite song to yourself.

5. Shift to “How Can I Help”

Shifting our perspective to how we can be helpful (in any situation) reduces fear, anxiety and stress. When we come from a place of  love and wanting to be helpful, it is easier to stay calm, be brave and relax.
